In complete contrast to the previous weekend's weather, the senior men played in balmy conditions on Saturday 31 October, with both squads up against opposition from Royal Wootton Bassett RFC... and both our teams won!
The 1st XV travelled away to play the RWB RFC 2nd XV. The boys scored three great tries and fly-half, George Shakespeare, was ever-accurate from the tee, seeing us notch up a very decent 9-30 victory. And at home, the Nomads were back to winning ways with a solid 26-12 win over Bassett's 3rd XV. The all-important clean sheet on The Common was also maintained!
In the 1st XV game, openside flanker, Tevita Tuisue, was a well-deserved Player of the Match - notably for his impressive tackling. Photo by Darren Greening.
These wins see our 1st XV maintaining third place in the Regional 2 (Severn) table and the Nomads sticking in fourth place in their Counties 2 (Dorset & Wiltshire North) league...
Congratulations all round!
