During 2000/2010 MRFC
In 2003 the club turned a corner through the drive of and enthusiasm of Geraint  Jones and Mike Banfield.
Up to 2003 M.R.F.C. had no formal coach  , the club had a team manager who aided the Captain in every respect for match day preparation . That was Mark Gibson past Junior Chairman in  1979/80,1981/82. Future  club Chairman in 2004-2005, 2005-2006.
Also at this time Rodney Adams and Joyce were the corner stone in the off field activities!
Steve Ralph-Bowman was our first proper coach in 2003 .He came with great credentials.A colleague of Geraint’s at Bishop’s Wordsworth in Salisbury. He had coached Bournemouth and Salisbury Clubs plus coaching at English Schools Level.
During his tenure the club were promoted from Division 2 to Division 1 North. A fantastic turn around after languishing at the bottom of Division 2 for a number of years, after retirement of a number of 1st XV players,
When Steve left in 2005 ,Geraint re-assumed the coaching for a while until He asked Simon Postlethwaite to coach. Simon had just retired through injury from playing for Keynsham. He was an up-and-coming coach who saw Marlborough as a good stepping stone for his coaching career.
