Marlborough RFC 1983/84

Throughout the history of Marlborough RFC we have attracted plenty of over seas star players.

John Pye joined us in the early 80’s.Originally he played for his Hall of Residence at St.Lukes College Exeter,(Killerton).Played for the Vale of Lune in 1972/73. Moved to Jamaica and played for Jamaica 1st XV from 1975/78. Then moved to a new teaching post in the Bahamas and played for their 1st XV. in 1978/1981.

He then moved back to the UK and played for Marlborough RFC. During the 1981/82 season he joined in the new year. Up to that point in the season the club had only won a few matches, as a gifted fly half he guided the team to win  last 14 games of that season.
