Sherborne RFC

10 - 39

(HT 0-0)

Marlborough RFC
The Marlborough Rugby Under 15s delivered a commanding away performance in atrocious conditions to secure a well-earned victory over Sherborne and keep the title race finely poised.
As the visitors, the Marlborough boys started with real intent, powering over from a drive‑over lineout that set the tone for a dominant display up front. Despite the weather making handling treacherous, the backs combined brilliantly for a well‑constructed early try. Sherborne responded with spirit, landing a penalty and crossing for a try to stay in touch at the break.
With the wind behind them in the second half, Marlborough took full control. Four unanswered tries followed, arriving in every imaginable fashion — forward power, sharp backline play, a clever kick through, and a quick tap that caught the hosts off guard. It was an excellent all‑round showing, especially given the conditions.
The win keeps Marlborough firmly in the hunt for a potential top‑of‑the‑table showdown with Bridport on the final day, with the league title still very much up for grabs.
Congratulations to Henri, named Man of the Match — and a special moment as the two captains ended up presenting the award to each other.
