A very well organised squad and the coaches had a firm handle on what was happening. There were some similarities here between the two teams. Marlborough played with passion and determination but with far too many unforced errors. It was a "nip and tuck" game which went down to the wire with Walcott winning with the very last kick of the match. Marlborough did score 4 trys which is really encouraging.
If we didn't collect two yellow cards would the score have been different? - who knows but we do know we were extremely lucky to avoid a red card if the ref had given a second yellow to our winger for a deliberate knock on- the penalty which was converted which gave the game to Walcott.
Overall impression - a great match to watch with both sides trying their hardest but being the first game of the season there were bound to be mistakes and a lack of fluency. Marlborough will bounce back strongly.
