Background – This role has been created because of the plans which were agreed by the Committee in 2021, to relaunch the Club as MARLBOROUGH RUGBY which happened last September. Also, to help firmly establish it as one who welcomes all, is part of the local community and one which inspires and excels in the sport of rugby. This role remains pivotal in continuing the success from last year’s relaunch of the Club.

Whilst this is a volunteer/unpaid role, the Club is immensely grateful to all our volunteers and may offer legitimate expenses (depending on the role) plus a range of Club and Club sponsor discounts, by way of a ‘big thank you’ for your time.

Objective 1. To ensure all Club communication (Internal and External) reflects the Common values – Welcome | Inspire | Excel – and promotes the key messages accordingly.

               2. To improve the information flow internally, to parents and members.

               3. To improve the public information flow via, the website, social media and local press.

Key aspects of the role:

  • To oversee, co-ordinate and motivate a team of volunteers through the formation and Chairing of a Marketing subcommittee of volunteers and members covering specific individual roles. To meet every 2 months, or as required.
  • To allocate and brief official Club spokespersons and be prepared to act as a media spokesperson yourself where required/appropriate.
  • To draw up a central content plan for sub-committee members to follow and to agree content templates/content with the Media & Website Editor and Newsletter Editors prior to publication.
  • To oversee internal and external communication channels including press releases, the Club newsletter, Club website, Club social media, welcome/membership packs and Clubhouse notices etc.
